About Our Company,
We started Tom's Caribbean Tropicals about 30 years ago and incorporated in 1990. We are a mom and pop team who will give personal attention to each and every person. We are also there for you if there's ever a problem. We are fully licensed to collect retail and wholesale live saltwater ornamental tropical fish and invertebrates by the state of Florida. One of only about 100 licenses in existence to collect wild tropical fish and invertebrates for sale to pet shops, public aquariums, and hobbyist. There is a cap on these licenses and no more new ones are sold.
We are on the board of directors for the Florida Marine Life Association (FMLA) They are a group of marine life collectors in Florida that was chosen by the state and federal government to help make the rules and regulations for licenses for the marine life collectors. This industry is tightly controlled and regulated by the state of Florida. Each and every item collected for resale must be reported to the state once a month. The state of Florida is looked at by the rest of the world for its comprehensive marine life rules. We at Toms Caribbean Tropicals are proud to be part of that.
